Many women use makeup as a crutch – they rely on it to feel beautiful. However, if you figure out ways to enhance your natural beauty without makeup, you’ll look more naturally pretty – which is actually what men often find the most attractive.

There are several reasons why it’s beneficial to learn how to look great without makeup on – and a lot of it has to do with improving your skin. If you’re able to feel confident leaving the house without makeup on, you’ll save a ton of time in the morning and you’ll be able to sleep in. Never again will you look bad by arriving late to work because you just had to finish perfecting that cat-eye with your eyeliner. You’ll save a ton of money because your expensive makeup products will last way longer since you’ll now barely ever be using them. You’ll no longer turn down a last-minute invitation out because you don’t feel like doing your face. You’ll feel secure enough to leave the house without an ounce of makeup on – but how? Follow these tips and tricks and thank me later.

You are what you eat (and drink)

Drink plenty of water and eat plant-based, water-rich foods (such as cucumbers) to keep your skin looking great. There’s a reason why vegans have such beautiful skin! Eat fruits that are high in antioxidants which help to protect your skin from exposure to second-hand smoke and pollution in the air. Your skin cells stay healthier the more antioxidant-rich foods you consume. Eat things like sweet potatoes, kale, spinach, papaya, carrots and blueberries.

Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions look incredibly natural – it really does look like you have full, long and dark eyelashes. Dramatizing the look of your eyes by getting eyelash extensions is much different from using false lashes. False lashes are obviously not your lashes. Most people can tell right away that you’re wearing them. With eyelash extensions, your eyes look dramatically different and extremely beautiful without looking unnatural.

Eyelash extensions create thicker, darker lashes and the results are similar to the results of eyeliner and mascara – the difference being that eyelash extensions create much better results with less muss and fuss. Liz Bussey, owner of Glow Lashes explains, “the majority of lash extension wearers don’t wear much makeup at all. Lash extensions give the illusion of makeup – but you don’t have to spend the time applying eye makeup or spend the time washing off your mascara at night. By throwing away your mascara and getting lash extensions instead, you’re achieving a natural look while drawing attention to your gorgeous eyes.”  See a photo of one of Liz’s clients below for proof of how dramatically better your eyes look (without makeup) with eyelash extensions:

Microdermabrasion Treatments

A microdermabrasion treatment is a medical-grade exfoliating and brightening treatment that removes the dull, dead skin on the surface to reveal the brighter, more radiant skin beneath. Your skin will glow after a microdermabrasion treatment, and appear smoother, brighter and more even. Microdermabrasions also help reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes. It’s best to get one of these done every 6-8 weeks to achieve gorgeous, glowing skin without makeup.

Sunscreen year-round

Yes, even in the winter you should apply sunscreen to your face before you leave the house. Applying sunscreen is much less time-consuming than applying all your makeup, and it’s necessary to protect your skin from exposure to keep your skin healthy and beautiful.

Get plenty of sleep

You’ll look refreshed if you feel refreshed. Get plenty of sleep. If you have trouble relaxing or falling asleep, try a soothing sleep hypnosis on YouTube.

Once you feel confident with how your skin and eyes look without makeup on, you’ll be able to be a lot more spontaneous! You’ll no longer cancel plans because you can’t be bothered to “get ready” and you’ll never again be late for a meeting because you were fussing with your makeup!
